I’m excited to hop back in and slay some zombies, but I’d like to hear your thoughts. From here, they must fight their way to the lighthouse. I don't have too many hours into it, but I can safely say that it is one of my favorites of all time. Outside the safehouse, the Survivors must pass an overrun watchtower outpost. This collection is inspired by the new update the game got not too long ago. The Survivors start off in a safehouse adjacent to a military outpost settled in a firetower near the lighthouse. This is a collaborative effort between the modding community and Valve, and thus both should be praised. ' Lighthouse Finale ' is the second and final chapter of 'The Last Stand' Left 4 Dead 2 campaign. Outside of weapons, you can expect animation improvements, bug fixes, versus balancing, additional gore, and much more! We’ll have a list of patch notes on release day, so expect to see that from me soon. These are mainly Counter-Strike weapons, including the SG552 and AWP. For those who doin’t mod the game, there are also several unused weapons coming to the weapon rotation. Now you’ll finally be able to strike Chargers down with a pitchfork, which should be a lot of fun. You have two new melee weapons, being a shovel and pitchfork. Maps aren’t the only thing coming to Left 4 Dead 2 though. Have you ever wanted to try and survive on the barge area of The Sacrifice campaign? You can do that now. There are maps for the game’s Survival mode based here, but also new Survival maps for other campaigns as well. Now, the campaign has been properly updated to be playable, and should be a lot of fun. This is a campaign that Valve created for the original Left 4 Dead, though it was scrapped prior to launch. Left 4 Dead 2: The Last Stand, as the name implies, introduces The Last Stand campaign. You can find the latest reveal trailer below. Left 4 Dead 2: The Last Stand releases on September 24, bringing in a lot of new content and changes to make the game feel fresh. Now, all this time later, the team is releasing a free update for the game. Communities are the lifeblood of older games like this, and even Valve knows this. The game has infinite replayability, thanks in part due to the efforts of the community. According to Steam Charts, the game is still sitting comfortably at 10,000 to 15,000 players consistently. Time to play it until Valve gives us a sequel.11 years after the launch of Left 4 Dead 2, the game is still garnering serious player numbers. Years in the making, The Last Stand is a massive Left 4 Dead 2 update created entirely by the L4D community. Now that The Last Stand is finally out for Left 4 Dead 2, that’s probably it for the game. At that price, you’d be as dumb as a zombie not to get it. What’s more, if you don’t actually own Left 4 Dead 2 and it hooks you, it’s currently on sale for $2 USD. This is the perfect opportunity to get in and rediscover what made this series so great. To celebrate the release of this incredible community effort, Valve is making Left 4 Dead 2 entirely free this weekend, starting right now. This should have completionists diving back in to reclaim that 100%. There are more than two dozen new Survival maps for players to try.įor those that have already clocked Left 4 Dead 2, killed every zombie and mastered every battle, the Last Stand update also provided new Achievements to chase. The Last Stand update has been in development for years now, but on September 24, 2020, the official Valve Software Twitter page informed players that the update is now available. This community-made update has received the Valve stamp of approval and will expand the game in several meaningful ways. Left 4 Dead 2 came out some 11 years ago, and yet here we are, getting one final update in the form of The Last Stand.
